Amaranthe: The nexus
28/03/13 || Lord K Philipson
Lemme start off by saying that playing World of Warcraft is for fags. Huh? Yeah, check me out:
“The Nexus, a dungeon hub, is an ice fortress found in the center of Coldarra, in Northrend’s Borean Tundra.”
That’s from some WoW shit I found on the net so I have decided that’s where the title is from, just becoz I can. Fuck it, I wont be long-winded this time around, so let’s cut the chase.
I am disappoint.
Everything that I wrote about Amaranthe in the review of their debut album is still valid, hence why this one is a stub instead of a regular piece coz a regular coverage would just be a bunch of paragraphs of me repeating myself. I have decided to do just that anyways (repeating myself, that is) but in a much quicker way since I got more important shit to deal with than reviewing albums. So, here we go:
- The chick still sings fantastic.
- The guys’ (all fucken hundred of them) vocals still annoy me like all-fuck.
- The material on “The nexus” is still Pro-Tool’d semi-nonsense with more lows than highs.
- As a whole this one is not as catchy as the debut.
Still they will become a bigger band with this effort. Good for them. And I can enjoy it for what it is after all, though I expected more.
6/10: I won’t help with the record sales as I thought I would. Streaming this one a bunch of times was enough for me.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
